I Love You.
Three simple words... but yet so profound. Three simple words and yet carry a wide range of meaning. For some, saying these three simple words means steping into a very serious situation where commitment is expected. A dear friend of mine told me that youths and young adults nowadays are very scared of the word "commitment". I agree.
For some, saying these three simple words means nothing and is just a verbal expression to get something that they want. Think superficial BGR. Girls and guys... yes guys too... don't be so easily taken in by "this special person" who say these three words to you. For all you know, there are hidden agendas. See the video below. Very funny but drives home what I am trying to say.
For some, saying these three simple words means a whole world to them. Even though it can be one sided, or not recipocrated.
For some, these three simple words cannot be verbalise as it will result in drastic consequences. Who say love is easy?
For some, these three simple words is only expressed in actions, but always treated as over-bearing and strict expression. Hard love are the hardest to accept.
There are many ways to say these three simple words, but to really mean it when we say it, takes more than verbal words. It requires your commitment, your life, your whole being. It requires careful thought, less it loses its meaning. It requires sacrifice, less it ain't love at all.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast. It does not keep records of wrong.
If one can love like that, well, I guess we can really love someone without expection because love is never about self.
When was the last time you mention these three simple words to someone and meant it? Was it to your dad and mom? Was it your brothers and sisters? Was it your friend (It need not be BGR type of love)?
I try my very best to whisper these three simple words to my wife every night before we sleep. It helps reinforce our relationship and commitment to one another.
Let's learn to love one another as God loves us.
Just three simple words....
