Today was the second run with EJ as we decided to embark on the new route that he suggested. It seems to be quite a feat but we decided to go for it. So taking the risk of not bringing along any cash or EZ-link card (for fear of not being able to make it back), we set off at 6pm.

The beginning of the run was kinda hot but it slowly got better as we started running along Telok Blangah Hill which was pretty cooling as there were really lotsa trees around. By the time we hit Pasir Panjang Road, I was pretty sure we are gonna be ok. EJ seems fine, though he had a bout of running nose in the morning, and I was breathing and coping with the run well.

However, by the time we reach Alexanda Hospital, I could start to feel the strain liao.... how to go for 42km like that! Well we press on towards the finishing line and finally reached back to our starting point in one piece, and making a mutual agreement to run this route a few more times before extending the distance. We need to feel very comfortable with this one before we embark on raising the distance to another level.

Well here is the route that we took today. I can't determine how far is the distance but confirmed it is more than 5km but lesser than 10km. We took about 40 mins to finish the loop.

Well looks like we are making progress... slow BUT there is progress! These training reminds me of what the bible say about running the race, fighting the good fight and finishing the race. It is not how well you start, but how well you finish. I may be training and starting well, but ultimately, I want to run on the 7th Dec 2008, finish the run, regardless of timing, and finish it well. That is my aim and that shall be accomplished. Pray that I will be healthy and fit, with no injuries to prevent the run from being completed.

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. - Hebrews 12:1

Let's keep this distance for one-two more times before we "expand" our region!
